Interactions of nature and culture in past and present. The aim of this project is to create a basis for scientists and scholars in the fields of natural history, sociology, archaeology, history and culture in the Vestfjords area in Iceland. The main goal is to increase the possibility for academics who work in these region to get jobs by creating new opportunities in the Vestfjords area. To start this project a project leader have been hired. His role is to look through all reasearch data and coordinate the effort of collaborating instituts which concerns the Vestfjords area and file them in database that will be hosted at the Vestfjords Natural History Institute. The project leader will also work on a marketing project for the Vestfjords area in these fields. The purpose of this marketing project is to let scientists, scholars and other academics know how interesting it is to do research projects in the Vestfjords. The touristindustry will also benefit from this marketing project because there will be a chance to conect natural history, environment, archaeology, history, culture and tourism together. The Vestfjords Natural History Institute will be hosting all data and informations about research in these fields and scientists, scholars and academics can look for informations and seek facilities there for further research. Hopefully, the Vestfjords will gain new jobs opportunities and there will increase people with higher education. |
